Brixham Coastguard Rescue Team was tasked to support Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service following a report of a vessel on fire at 3.26am today (November 17).

On arrival, a vessel on the Town Quay pontoon was found to be well alight, and one person was already receiving care from fire service personnel.

The coastguard team continued treatment so fire crews could focus on the incident. The individual was later taken to hospital for further care.

Coastguards said: "If you see anyone in difficulty along the coast or at sea, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard. "
