Runners took to the streets of North Devon on Sunday, 8 March 2026, as Phil Morgan and Louise Small claimed victory in the annual Bideford Half Marathon.
The event, which saw participants race along the picturesque River Torridge, drew a competitive field for the 13.1-mile challenge.
Starting at 10.30am, the race saw athletes compete for a significant prize pot, with the first-place man and woman each taking home £200 and a bottle of champagne.
The top six finishers in both the men’s and women’s races were rewarded with cash prizes ranging from £200 down to £40 for sixth place. Additional incentives were on offer, including a £50 bonus for anyone who could break the longstanding course records: 01:05:35 for men, set in 2023, and 01:16:35 for women, set last year.
Category winners up to V75 were also awarded £20 each for their performances.
The event, organised by Bideford Amateur Athletic Club, remains a highlight of the local sporting calendar, attracting both elite runners and club athletes from across the region.
