Presentation evening at Holsworthy Golf Club
Holsworthy Golf Club has rounded off the year in style, with presentations at the end of its AGM, as outgoing captain Mark Brumham hands over the reins to incoming captain Pete Isaac.
Mark Brumham provided a summary of 2024, saying that it had been a difficult year, following the sudden passing of one of the owners, Mike Bridgman, who was a larger-than-life character and kingpin in the success of Holsworthy Golf Club.
Mark said: “He will be missed by members, guests, golfers, Rotary and many friends. Our thoughts remain with his family during a difficult time.
As a mark of respect, many competitions were cancelled until after Mike’s funeral, but thankfully with a break in the weather, we were able to complete all the competitions before the weather turned again, something we know Mike would have appreciated.
“We were therefore able to celebrate individual and team successes to close the 2024 golfing season.
In other news, Holsworthy Golf club was acquired 10 years ago, with the three remaining partners being responsible for turning the club around and making it a popular venue, not just for golf but for its Sunday lunches, bingo nights and entertainment evenings.
It was announced this year that the current owners would now look to sell the successful business, so the club and its captains would like to wish them every success with the sale and look forward to what 2025 has to hold.
