The Bideford Bike Show Christmas Toy Run 2025 brings smiles to children and families at Children’s Hospice South West

Motorcycling Santas have gathered for their annual Bideford Bike Show Christmas Toy Run for Children’s Hospice South West to spread a little festive cheer to the children and their families.

The event on Sunday, November 30 saw a gaggle of motorcyclist in Santa suits and elf outfits gather at Bideford Quay before setting off for Little Bridge House in Fremington bearing a wide range of gifts for youngsters dealing with life-limiting illness.

They were given a send-off at the Quay by Bideford Youth Pipe Band before setting off in convoy and passing through Westward Ho!, Appledore and Instow on their way.

Lisa Elston, Bideford Bike Show organiser, said: “The Bideford Bike Show team are always delighted to arrange an annual Christmas toy run to Children's Hospice South West and visit the children and their families staying at Little Bridge House.

“It is always a very humbling and emotional event that we do and to see the smiles on everyone's faces when we all ride in. We are always amazed at how many bikers come along and make it such a fantastic day.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that joined us, all the staff who welcomed us and Austin Wallas for photographing us as we all arrived; also thanks to the Bideford Youth Pipe Band who came along at the start point to play some tunes, plus it was great to see so many people out and about giving us a wave.”

The hospice posted on Facebook to say: “A huge thank you to the amazing Bideford Bike Show team who visited Little Bridge House for their annual Christmas toy run!

“The festive bikers were warmly welcomed by everyone at the hospice as they arrived full of Christmas cheer, delivering a wonderful selection of toys for the children and a generous donation to support our care.

“We’d also like to give a special mention to Claire, who organises a donation station in Morrisons in Bideford each year, thank you!

“It was such a special day, the smiles on the faces of the families staying says it all.”
