Ilfracombe Carnival 2025 has been hailed a great success with hundreds of people taking part

Organisers have thanked all those who took part in, watched and sponsored Ilfracombe Carnival 2025 – even the sun played ball!

From monkeys and Mario kart to dinosaurs, Jack-in-the-Green characters and pirates, there was a huge variety of entries with many walkers as well as floats.

First place in the motorised vehicle category went to YSail, with Bite Back at MND second and Shimmy Fit with 'Oz' third.

Jack-in-the-Green took first in the mixed walking group category, with Pram Brigade and Alice in Wonderland second and third.

Ilfracombe Carnival Committee took to Facebook to say: “On behalf of the Carnival Committee, we would like to say an enormous thank you to everyone.

“The sun was shining, there was double the amount of entrants than last year and it was lovely to see all the happy faces.

“Everyone who participated in the parade - the creativity knew no bounds.”

The committee thanked all those who had provided voluntary marshalling, entertainment and support, plus sponsors including Fullabrook CIC, Ilfracombe Town Council, Elan Homes, SMD Pharmacy, Mike's Taxi, Mike and Julie Turton, Webbers Estate Agents Ilfracombe, JME Scaffolding, Events 4 Ilfracombe, Espresso Bar and Sure Taxis Limited.
