Pictures: Santa’s route is clear with Torquay’s Bay of Lights beacons

Step into the festive trail and see how Santa will find his way along the English Riviera this Christmas Eve!

Thousands of visitors are taking in the festive magic along Torquay’s waterfront as the Bay of Lights continues to illuminate the English Riviera.

The newest installation, Santa’s Signal Beacons, lights up the waterfront and is guiding Santa straight to Torbay.

The trail, becoming a Torbay Christmas right of passage for locals and visitors alike, remains open until 2 January 2026.

An estimated 15,000 people flocked to Torquay’s waterfront for the trail’s opening night on 28 November, and, for the first time in several years, a real-ice rink has been set up on the seafront.

Looking ahead to 2026, Torbay is set for major investment and regeneration across Brixham, Paignton, and Torquay. Let’s hope the Bay of Lights remains a festive fixture - and it will be exciting to see what new installations might appear next year.

Happy Christmas Eve from everyone at the Torbay Weekly!
