Youngsters will take part in 29th North Devon Performing Arts Festival

THE 29th North Devon Performing Arts Festival gets under way next week with dance classes at the theatre at Kingsley School, Bideford, on Thursday of next week.

Vocal, speech and drama sections of the festival will be held at the same venue on November 1, November 8 and November 9.

Members of the public can watch these sessions which will feature performers of all ages, who receive a professional adjudication and prizes.

Instrumental classes will be held in the Assembly Rooms in South Molton on Wednesday, November 10 and Thursday, November 11.

The Wednesday session will be devoted to piano solos and duets as well as piano accordion solos, duets and ensembles.

The following day will feature a piano recital, novice classes, woodwind, strings, brass and guitars.

The Young Musician competition will be held at The Gallery in Barnstaple’s Queen’s Theatre from 6.30pm on Tuesday, November 2.

Prizes of �200, �100 and �75 will be on offer and the winners will perform again at the gala concert which will take place on November 27 at Bideford College Theatre.
