BARNSTAPLE U16s had not played any rugby for five weeks but came out firing on all cylinders with an emphatic 64-0 win over local rivals South Molton in the Exeter University Under 16s League.

With only 45 minutes played it was pretty much all one way traffic, but the game was played in good spirit and afterwards the two teams swapped shirts and played an extra 20 minutes with two combined Barnstaple and South Molton teams.

The try scorers were Scott Warren 2, Charlie Bishop 2, Sam Roach 2, Lee Casinelli, Ryan Legg, Ben Ward and the try of the game from Ed Harrison.

Barnstaple U15s were 17 – 5 winners over Wellington

There were tries by Gareth Sloman, Jacob Nash and James Newman and a conversion by Dom Thorn.

The U14s suffered their first defeat of the season to rivals Chippenham.

While Barnstaple had a 2-1 superior try count, Chippenham scored a try, a drop goal and two penalties.

Barnstaple backs looked sharp for most of the first half and scored a good try following a break by full-back Sam Roberts and rounded off by fly-half Isaac Hydleman.

Asecond try was added soon afterwards by outside centre Tom Karslake and a conversion by Barny Meadowcroft. But they allowed Chippenham to get back into the game and eventually lost to a last minute penalty.

Barum Under 13s travelled to local rivals Bideford and rediscovered their form after a long lay off to win 52 - 5 .

There were tries by Rob Squires, Alex Lomas, Matthew Symons (2), Austin White, Will Knill, Matt Giblett and Zac Venner and Will Knill converted six of them.
