Woman dies in collision with minibus

Accident closes road at Winkleigh

THE driver of a mini bus was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a collision on the B3217 at Dolton Beacon, Winkleigh yesterday (Saturday) afternoon.

The woman driver of a Peugeot 206 was pronounced deat at the scene after the collision with an eight-seater minibus.

A male passenger in the Peugeot was taken to North Devon District Hospital by air ambulance. Several other people suffered minor injuries and were treated by ambulance personnel.

The road was closed for a time for investigations to be carried out.
