MAGIC lamps, genies, Widow Twankee and Wishee Washee – it is of course Aladdin, playing for four nights at West Down Village Hall next week.
It is the latest annual extravaganza from West Down Productions and runs from Wednesday of next week (February 23) until Saturday at the hall.
The cast, which features many members of the West Down community, have been practicing hard since October to put on the fun production, suitable for all the family.
The familiar tale of Aladdin begins in The Market Square in Old Peking. Widow Twankee and her two sons Wishee Washie and Aladdin help her to run her famous laundry, but the wicked Abanazer tricks Aladdin into making a dangerous journey to get the magic lamp from the cave.
Will the intrepid hero win the hand of his beloved Princess Badrouldador? Not if the Empress and Abanazer have anything to do with it!!
The show starts at 7.30pm on each night, with doors open at 7 and tickets are available from West Down Village Stores or by calling Pete McGahran on (01271) 866396. Tickets cost 5 from Thursday to Saturday 4 for Wednesday’s performance.
