Vipers close, but Wasps win

Venners Bakery Vipers took on title contenders Wasps in the County Netball League and showed a huge improvement.

Alex McKean was superb in attack, delivering accurate passes to the shooters. At half time they were only two goals down, but their game plan was to enable all the squad to gain experience in this league and they chose to keep to this and made many changes.

The youngsters stepped up to the level required. Rebecca Markham shot well and Kat Parkyn made numerous interceptions. Beccy Straker came back from injury and used her pace to move the ball through the court.

A few errors crept in and Wasps pulled further ahead in the final quarter to win 44-36.
