Two ‘possibles’ steer Bideford to success

BIDEFORD Rifle Club continued its good form in round four of the Devon County Winter Shooting League, with its four teams recorded three wins and a draw.

Martin Morgan of the A team is leading the individual championship table with 398 out of a possible 400, helped by a “possible” in the latest round. Pete Thomson also scored 100 in this round, helping to put the A team in a strong position at this early stage.

Results of the first round of the North Devon League were not quite as good, with three wins and three defeats from six matches.

Devon Winter League: Bideford A 488 beat Sidbury A 487; Bideford B 480 drew with Okehampton A 480; Bideford C 478 beat GWR SA A 473; Bideford D 468 beat Broadclyst 457.

North Devon League: Bideford A 387 beat Pinhoe A 386; Bideford B 385 beat Bogey 384.82; Bideford C 371 lost to Tiverton B 376; Bideford D Alex Raymont 366 lost to Pinhoe D 377; Bideford E 369 beat Okehampton C 352; Bideford F 358 lost to Sidbury C 345.
