Family of alleged South Molton murder victim say he was “always there for whoever needed him”

THE family of 20-year-old Ryan King, who died following an incident at a party in South Molton at the weekend, have paid tribute to “the most loving, caring, kindest boy you could ever meet.”

Ryan was fatally injured following an occurrence at Snurridge Manor in the early hours of Sunday morning and was taken to North Devon District Hospital by paramedics, but died later.

Raymond John Dupree, aged 66, from Bishops Nympton appeared before magistrates in Exeter yesterday (Tuesday) charged with murder. He is accused of stabbing Ryan in the throat with a glass.

A statement released by Ryan’s family said they were devastated by the sudden loss.

“Ryan was the most loving, caring, kindest boy you could ever meet, he was always there for his family and friends, whoever needed him,” they said.

“Just reading what friends have to say about him on Facebook proves there wasn’t one person he didn’t touch with his kindness. If he saw a stranger crying in the street he would be the first to go and ask if they were okay.

“Ryan loved life and always knew how to put a smile on anyone’s face, lighting up their lives with happiness.

“Our lives will never be the same again without our little ray of sunshine.”

Raymond Dupree was remanded in custody yesterday, to appear at Exeter Crown Court on September 6.
