TORRINGTON chalked up a victory over Roseland 34-12.

They made life hard for themselves by going 5-0 down in the first two minutes to a well-executed catch-and-drive try.

Having worked up to a 17-5 lead at the turnaround, Torrie let Roseland back into the game. Two more tries finally killed off the Cornish visitors.

Centre Luke Hoyle crossed first for Torrie, only to be called back, followed by scrum-half Luke Bament for a try which did count.

Andy Manning converted, then added a penalty for 10-5. Torrie went 17-5 up thanks to a Lloyd Sands try at the back of a five-metre scrum. Manning converted.

A classic move out of the back row led to Roseland trimming the deficit.

Manning eased Torrie's nerves with a penalty, then added the extras to a Leyton Blight try.

The last scoring act was a second try for Bament, this time from a scrum near the away side's 22.
