TITANS gave second-placed Bristol side Weston a tough test in the South West Regional Netball League at the weekend before finally bowing out 45-52.
The game was won by Weston in the first 15 minutes, with errors by the North Devon girls allowing them a six-goal advantage at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter was better and with Louise Lathwell nailing nine out of 10 goal attempts and Lorraine Cleverdon three out of four the gap was narrowed slightly to 22-27 at half-time..
Titans defence worked extremely hard, with player of the match keeper Louise Moir picking off fine interceptions, but a Weston surge in the third quarter pulled them ahead 32-41.
Titans increased the pressure in the final quarter, which they won 12-10, but the overall gap was too big.
They now face Bristol side TJs at Chulmleigh this Saturday at 11.30am.
