The Young Musicians' Support charity is being supported by two Open Garden days this Saturday May Sunday The garden of Paul and Gill Ellis at Pound Barn in West Buckland will be open between 2pm and 5pm on both days. Not only will there be a chance to visit the gardens, but a number of young musicians who have been supported by YMS will be performing throughout each afternoon -. whether the weather be good or bad.The musical ambition of many talented youngsters is frustrated because the costs involved in lessons, instruments and travel to events are too much for their families. With this in mind the Young Musicians' Support charity, with the support of The Dartington Trust, was founded specifically to promote excellence and broaden the availability of musical education in North Devon. The chairman of YMS, Heather Shorten, said: "In the last 18 years YMS has raised many thousands of pounds and helped hundreds of local school children to pursue their musical ambition and each year events like this one are organised to raise ongoing funds for the continuing success of our work. So the more people who come to see these beautiful gardens the better for YMS.
