Looking for something to do in Barnstaple this weekend? Why not join Barnstaple Young Generation on a journey along the yellow brick road as they bring the iconic musical The Wizard of Oz to the Queen’s Theatre.
It opened tonight (Thursday) and there are shows tomorrow (Friday) and on Saturday at 7pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2pm.
Featuring a cast of almost 40 young people aged between eight and 18, The Wizard of Oz has stood the test of the time, and is still beloved by people of all ages.
It features familiar tunes such as Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead, We’re off to see the Wizard, and the unforgettable Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
Director Jordan Buckingham said: “After a year away from the stage, I am delighted that BYG is back where we belong, and what better way to return then with an absolute classic.
“Everybody knows the story of Dorothy and Toto, and our production aims to be colourful, energetic and full of magic!”
