WIDOW Twankey raised her voice even higher than usual as she went along to Golds salon in Pilton on Thursday for a chest waxing before next weeks grand opening of the Queens Theatre Pantomime Aladdin. Some of the costumes worn by actor Antony Stuart-Hicks, who plays the dame were proving a little low cut and he decided there was nothing for it but to face the ordeal. To make matters worse, the Evil Abanazar aka David Phipps-Davis, went along to offer a little moral support, together with North Devon teenagers Meghan Lovering and Elisha Lawrence-Bardsley, who play villagers in the show. Under the ministrations of beauty therapist Hannah Lovering Twankeys voice definitely increased in pitch, but Antony took comfort in knowing he was suffering for his art! Aladdin opens at the Queens Theatre on Friday, December 10 and includes plenty of fun, song and dance to entertain the whole family.
