Join Alex Hutton and friends at North Devon Jazz Club on Monday, September 5

North Devon Jazz Club audiences can discover for themselves why the pianist Alex Hutton has been described as one of UK jazz’s hidden treasures.

He will be appearing at the club in the Beaver Inn, Appledore, on Monday, September 5 from 8.30pm.

Organiser Peter Hames says Alex is a fine composer, with an ear for folk and classical influences, a gifted and thoughtful improvisor and a mainstay of the London jazz scene.

He is appearing with his trio, which features Asaf Sirkis on drums and virtuoso bass player Yuri Golubev.

Alex draws on a variety of influences, ranging from classical to punk. He is a writer of catchy hooks and grooves but develops these sometimes simple ideas in highly creative and often emotionally-charged ways.

The gig will feature his latest work, the Magna Carta Suite.

Entry is free, although a collection will be taken for the musicians. For a meal booking phone The Beaver on 01237 474822 or for more details call 01237 421065 or follow North Devon Jazz Club on Facebook.
