Charity event for The Plough on Saturday November 28 as celebrity historian holds forth on the Magna Carta.
Forthright celebrity historian Dr David Starkey will be discussing the Magna Carta at a special charity event at The Plough Arts Centre in Torrington on Saturday, November 28.
Afternoon Tea with Dr Starkey is raising money for The Plough and will see the historian assessing what happened when the Magna Carta was signed and how the constitution stands today 800 years later – his conclusions are set to amaze and challenge his audience.
The event is being supported by Torridge and West Devon MP Geoffrey Cox.
Dr Starkey is described as an inspirational speaker and is the creator and presenter of many popular historical television series.
The event will include an auction of high value lots after the interval, donated by local businesses, plus a raffle.
