DRAMA students at Pilton Community College will be lighting the blue touchpaper today (Wednesday) to start a trio of explosive performances depicting the tale of Guy Fawkes and the legendary gunpowder plot. The action starts tonight in the college's drama hall at 7pm, with further performances tomorrow and Friday. The show promises a night of fireworks, surprises and excitement, complete with Moulin Rouge-esque high-kicking dancing girls, street entertainers and buskers."The performance has a fantastic live band made up of talented musicians from the school and led by Aimee Lang," said college spokesperson Lyn Friend."Matt Rhymer plays Catesby, the dynamic and charismatic leader of the conspirators who runs a seedy nightclub full of dancing girls and dark secrets. "Catesby is in dramatic opposition to the feckless King James played in comic style by David Johnson. "No one will forget Billy Buckingham's slapstick portrayal of the King's Groom, complete with his comic gestures and extrovert pink cravat," she added.Ali Lawson Smith, Debbie Squire, Sophie Pearce and Faye Young play the awesome nightclub girls, while the troupe of dancers is led by Katie Keenan, Sarah and Holly Ling. Tickets are available from Pilton Community College on (01271) 374381.
