Rising young performer Sanjay Brayne in Barnstaple on Wednesday, May 21.

PLAYING guitar as if he was born to it and singing like he means it, BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award nominee Sunjay Brayne comes to the Gallery Café at the Queen’s Theatre in Barnstaple on Wednesday, May 21.

Sunjay’s accolades are formidable for somebody who has just turned 20. He has performed all over the country at festivals, folk clubs and also as support to Steeleye Span’s 2013 autumn tour.

As well as his 2012 Young Folk Awards nomination, in the same year he won the Wath Festival Young Performers Award and was New Roots Competition finalist.

He is influenced by the blues, but draws heavily from the veins of folk, country and rock too.

The gig starts at 8pm. For tickets or more information call the box office on 01271 324242 or visit www.northdevontheatres.org
