VILLAGES in Action has two acts lined up to entertain in East Devon.

The strangely but aptly named Gonzo Moose Theatre Company are back on tour with their newest show, You Don't Need to Know That. Their style is anarchic and absolutely hilarious and, if you enjoy surreal humour, this is the one for you. Blackadder meets The Young Ones perhaps, The Mighty Boosh or Vic and Bob.

The other act is the Kosmos String Ensemble, which last year played to audiences who could not believe how fantastic these musicians are. Their performances were breathtaking.

They play a unique blend of innovative pieces, performing their own compositions, arrangements or improvisations inspired by Jewish, Gypsy, Balkan and contemporary music. Intoxicating dance rhythms, soulful improvisation and gypsy passion delivered with panache and virtuoso technique.

Gonzo Moose will be at the Ship Inn, Axmouth, on Thursday, January 31, at 7.30pm. Tickets, costing £7/£5, are available by calling (01297) 20679.

The Kosmos String Ensemble will be at Northleigh Village Hall on Friday, February 8, at 8pm. Tickets are avaialbe by calling (01404) 831292.

More professional performances from Villages in Action are planned and the full spring programme can be picked up from libraries, Tourist Information Centres or direct from admin@villagesinaction.co.uk or 01363 773660
