These two make a quite exceptional duo, combining thrilling fiddle performance with some of the finest melodeon playing to be heard on the folk scene.

Having started playing melodeon when he was just 10-years-old, Saul has been a professional musician on and off since his late teens, and has played with some of the greats of the scene, most notably The Kings of Calicutt, Waterson:Carthy, now with Faustus, and most recently in Eliza Carthy’s Wayward Band.

He also spent a year as ‘Songman’ in the West End production of War Horse. His voice is rich and warm, and beautifully suited to traditional English songs.

James has been playing violin from a young age, mostly self-taught, and turned professional very early on, working with Jim Moray, Mawkin:Causley and others, and later appeared in a number of television series and feature films.

The gig is 8pm, with doors from 7.30pm. Tickets are £8 at the door, or £7 from www.wegottickets.com/ShammickAcoustic, or the Pack O’ Cards or Pets’ Pantry in Combe Martin.
