Workshop without straight lines to mark North Devon Biosphere’s tenth anniversary.

A spiritual exploration of the North Devon Biosphere with many twists and turns enroute is the subject of a special labyrinthine workshop in Barnstaple on Saturday, June 8.

Artist in the Environment, Linda Gordon will be running a workshop to create and explore a ‘B10 Labyrinth’ at St Anne’s Art and Community Centre, as part of ongoing events to celebrates the biosphere’s tenth anniversary.

It is described as an opportunity to slow down, quieten the mind, to relax, meditate, ground the body, to solve problems or simply to play, and enjoy a recreational experience.

Linda will begin the workshop with a slide talk, showing the background history of labyrinths, their growing popularity today and the benefits to health and well-being ascribed to them.

“Walking a labyrinth lets me know just who I am, and where I am in the world,” said Linda.

“I see the biosphere as a large area of North Devon, containing a vast diversity of habitat, wildlife and people - all with their different histories, experiences and requirements.

“At the same time there is a sense of harmony and balance – of all aspects working together for the benefit of the whole.”

Participation cost is £15 and bookings can be made online at by calling 01237 478875 or emailing
