World-renowned Jill Kemp will be headlining a special Bideford Music Club Concert on January 15.
A recorder player whose work has featured in the Harry Potter films and earned recognition across the world will take to the stage at a special Bideford Music Club concert on Wednesday, January 15.
Jill Kemp is soloist and chamber musician whose repertoire spans seven centuries and she regularly performs premieres and new commissions.
Her visit to Bideford Methodist Church Hall will see her joined by talented pianist Aleksander Szram, who has performed in more than 30 countries across five continents.
Jill has proved the ‘humble’ recorder – often the first instrument to be learned – can yet be an exciting and versatile choice.
Her accolades include becoming the first ever recorder player to win the Royal Over-Seas League Wind and Brass Competition, as well as broadcasting on the BBC, Classic FM and American, Italian and Polish television.
She has appeared at recital venues throughout Europe and America, including Carnegie Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and other festivals. She has performed with many ensembles, including Red Priest, the Brodowski Quartet, Stile Antico and the LSO.
Abbey Road sessions have recorded sound track work for Harry Potter, Fantastic Mr Fox and Philomena.
The concert on January 15 starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £12.50 (students free) and are available at the door. For information call 01237 423112.
