Rehearsals under way for summer production of timeless classic.

MEMBERS of The Plough Youth Theatre headed down the yellow brick road after their Easter break and straight into rehearsals for their new show The Wizard of Oz.

The juniors and seniors are joining forces once again this summer to bring this timeless classic to life, with the production taking place at The Plough in Torrington on Wednesday, July 3 and Thursday 4.

“I’ve been a huge fan of The Wizard of Oz for as long as I can remember so I’m really excited,” said youth theatre director Sarah Middleton.

“There is so much great young talent in the area that this is the perfect opportunity to showcase it.”

Expect a jam-packed production of infectious chorus numbers, flying monkeys and the loveable munchkins, while with Carol Vincent-Smythe choreographing, the show is bound to have a certain wackiness too.

Plough Youth Theatre gets together almost every Saturday in the weeks and months ahead. For more information about half term workshops, Plough Youth Theatre, and Outreach, call Sarah on 01805 622552 or email sarahpyt@theploughartscentre.org.uk
