ANYONE who enjoys rolling out the barrel, having a good ol' knees up or dilly-dallying on the way is invited to an open evening next month to recruit new talent for the 2008 Ilfracombe Old Time Musical Variety Show. The popular stage show is a mainstay of the Ilfracombe Victorian Celebrations and will this year be taking place on Wednesday and Thursday, June 11 and 12 at the Landmark.Last year the production raised around £2,000 for local charities, but new performers - singers, dancers and anyone who is the least bit flamboyant or enjoys treading the boards - would be welcome to swell the ranks. There will be an informal cheese and wine evening at Ilfracombe Conservative Club on Wednesday, February 6 at 8pm, with all invited to go along, meet the show organisers and find out more.Newcomers or members from past and present are welcome to go along on the night - and enjoy an informal singalong of songs from the show.Rehearsals are set to begin at the end of February.
