Singer songwriter Christine Tobin is hosted by North Devon Jazz Club on Monday, January 27.

IRISH-born singer-songwriter Christine Tobin has been described as authentic, versatile and ‘streets ahead’ but the superlatives all boil down to one word – original.

She is usually found performing at the big-name UK jazz venues and festivals, as well as working closely with leading musicians such as Billy Childs and Nigel Kennedy.

But this Monday (January 27) fans can see her live at North Devon jazz Club at the Beaver Inn, Appledore, from 8.30pm.

Accompanied by top guitarist Phil Robson and superb bass player Dave Whitford, Christine will demonstrate her much acclaimed ‘golden voice’, together with a repertoire of largely self-penned songs rooted in jazz but with plenty of world music influences too.

The gig is part of her national tour and includes material from her forthcoming CD tribute to Leonard Cohen entitled A Thousand Kisses Deep.

Entry is free but as ever a collection is taken for the band. For more information call 01237 421065.
