The Gazette is sponsoring the highly successful Schools' Day again this year, when on Friday June 20, youngsters from over 50 schools across the region will be able to drop into Croyde to enjoy a fun-packed and educational day out. This new generation will be able to sample the vast range of activities available to them at the beach - and find out what it takes to aim for the Olympic path and follow the road to London come 2012.

Schools will follow an activities programme in a rotation, to allow all pupils to experience all facets, whilst also having the chance to visit the oceanside Croyde Arena and attend workshops and tasters. The North Devon College Art Department will help pupils to create their own small windmill, using images from the site; these will then accumulate over the day creating a field of little windmills which will reinforce ideas about green energy.

Also presenting and available to the pupils:

Surfers against Sewage - SAS

RNLI summer roadshow

Devon Fire and Rescue

South West Water

Northern Devon Biosphere Reserve
