THE fun-loving people of North Devon can once more enjoy the soulful sounds of Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding and of course The Blues Brothers when "The Summer Soul-Stice" returns, by popular demand, to the Landmark Theatre, Ilfracombe, this summer. Local function band Sonic Fusion proudly present this non-stop soul extravaganza which delighted audiences throughout the summer of 2006. Since the success of the soul show, Sonic Fusion have gone from strength to strength, most notably when they were asked to perform with Joss Stone at Barnstaple's lighting of the lights before last Christmas. "It was an incredible gig for us," said Neil Perrin. "We literally didn't know she was going to sing until about 30 seconds before she walked on stage with us!" Sonic Fusion are extending an invitation to singers in the North Devon area to join them on stage for the show's six-week summer run. "We are looking for male and female singers to help back the group and take a couple of solos," said drummer Richard Lancaster. "We do these shows because we love playing and it's good to get involved with the local scene. If we can give some other local people a chance to get involved then why not?"Singers would need to be available for all six Friday night performances (July 18, 24 and August 1, 8, 15, 29) and must be over the age of 16. They must be outgoing, but most of all have a great stage presence. "We are looking for people with a young, vibrant style who will clearly enjoy themselves on stage," Richard said. "This is a great chance for people to come and sing with a big band." For information, or to set up an informal audition, call Richard Lancaster on 07976 640445 or email info@sonicfusion.biz
