ALMOST as good as the original" is how most descriptions of tribute band ZU2 begin and on Saturday, January 17 North Devon audiences can find out for themselves. The band will be playing at the Queen's Theatre in Barnstaple and are thought to be the most accurate U2 look alike and sound-alike out there.Their live performances brim with passion and raw energy, as dazzling lights rake the stage to create the pulse-quickening drama and excitement of a stadium show, at a third of the price. The band are Russell Ashford (uncannily like Bono,) Richard Ashford (The Edge,) Gareth Jenkinson (Adam Clayton,) and Jamie Richardson (Larry Mullen Jr.) The quartet faithfully recreate the sound of some of U2's best loved hits including Where the Streets Have No Name, Pride (In the Name of Love,) With Or Without You, Beautiful Day and Vertigo. Tickets cost £15 and are available from the box office on (01271) 324242 or visit www.zu2tribute.com and www.nothdevontheatres.org.uk for more information.
