The former Venue in Barnstaple relaunches on Friday, September 30, as KOKOMO and with superstar Sonique at the decks. The singer and international DJ is appearing at reopening night for the club on The Strand for a two-hour set plus live PA. Sonique shot to fame as lead vocalist of 1980s electronic dance band SExpress, racking up a series of top 40 hits before embarking upon a highly successful solo career. A DJ career followed and she blends her powerful singing talents with natural mixing skills to create a club atmosphere described as unique. She has played sets at famous clubs such as Cream and Gatecrasher and was the resident DJ at the infamous Manumission club in Ibiza for three years. She added to her club and dance music hits with a UK number one in 2000 with It Feels So Good.
