Talented musicians to perform in Fremington tomorrow night.
SOME of North Devon’s most talented young musicians will be performing at St Peter’s Church in Fremington tomorrow (Friday).
The North Devon Strings ‘Summer Soirée’ will celebrate 300 years of string music, including works by Vivaldi, Handel and Albinoni.
An orchestra of 16 cellists, violinists, viola and double bass players are expected to draw a large audience to the 7pm concert.
Musical director Keith Chivers said the musicians had played together for many years, and many had come through the North Devon Music Centre as youngsters.
“They’ve gone on to do great things,” he said. “Half of the orchestra are now professional musicians and others are semi-professional.
“We had a couple of viola players perform at Glastonbury last month and some play with the North Devon Sinfonia, our local amateur orchestra.”
Tickets to tomorrow night’s concert in Fremington are £10 on the door and include drinks.
