JAZZ lovers are in for a treat with the visit to the Plough Art Centre in Torrington on Saturday of the Louise Parker Quartet.Louise, named after Louis Armstrong, was brought up in a house filled with music.Her Jamaican-born mother adored folk, calypso and opera.Her father was obsessed with trad, swing and bee-bop.These influences have helped to create the kind of soulful jazz for which Louise is rapidly gaining a reputation.She is a powerful live performer and a skilful interpreter of swing, blues and gospel classics.
