RICK Wakeman, perhaps best known for his years as keyboard player for progressive rock band Yes, is to appear at the Queen's Theatre, Barnstaple on Sunday, June 20 in a rare one-man show as part of the North Devon Festival.

As well as the fact that he is known as one of the best rock keyboardists of all time, Rick has also endeared himself to the general public via numerous high profile television appearances on family favourites such as Countdown, Top Gear and Grumpy Old Men.

With 50 million record sales around the world, which have included more than 150 record releases, over 50 DVDs and soundtracks for in excess of 25 films, Rick has a long history in the business.

Naturally warm and witty, Rick assures his audience that the format for his one-man show is a simple one, one that features a large concert grand piano and a whole host of funny anecdotes. Rick explains:

"Although I have stopped the long touring, I do enjoy getting up on stage and playing and have really enjoyed the one man shows with the piano that I have done at a few arts festivals over the last couple of years and to this end have decided to "tour" in the UK next year performing just 12 shows - one a month!"
