Ilfracombe Holiday Park hosts a mouth-watering line-up of artists this October
Two legendary folk bands will be coming to Ilfracombe this October.
Lindisfarne and Fairport Convention will be headlining the Ilfracombe Folk, Roots & World Music Festival on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 20-22.
The two iconic acts will be joined at Ilfracombe Holiday Park by Friday headliner Jacqui McShee's Pentangle, plus a mouth-watering line-up from across the genre.
Hosted by Solid Entertainments, the festival features 15 very different acts, who possess legions of fans in their own right.
The highly regarded Wille & the Bandits will be joined by Papillon, Folklaw, Gilmore & Roberts, Said The Maiden and enduring performer Richard Digance, to name just a very few.
Organiser John Brown said: "When artists of this calibre get together, festival goers can expect to see top class live performances and hear a range of incredible sounds, with sets that incorporate a creative mix of original new material and a few classic numbers that many will remember."
Fairport Convention played their first concert in 1967 and are still one of the busiest bands around, with a Radio Two Folk Awards lifetime achievement award and 'best folk album ever' award by the station's listeners.
Meanwhile, Lindisfarne, the unforgettable 70s folk-rock pioneers are returning to form with a classic six-piece line up of long-time members, fronted by original founder-member Rod Clement.
