TOP names will be playing some top gigs at the Marlboro Club in Ilfracombe throughout North Devon Festival month.Already a venue with a name for attracting quality bands from across the UK and beyond, organiser Ray Williams has arranged an excellent June line up.This Friday the legendary Pendragon will be making their first South West appearance for six years as part of their 30th anniversary tour. There will be support from progressive Welsh band Sanction plus midlanders Old School Tie.Formed in 1978 with the aim of playing classic rock covers, Pendragon has evolved and endured since then, producing some excellent original rock anthems along the way and looking forward to new album, Pure, this September.The spirit of Hawkwind is alive, well and coming to the Marlboro on Friday, June 20 as Nik Turner's Space Ritual, which features original members of the popular 70s "space rock" band. Expect a lively night and sound that never seems to lose its appeal. There is support from special guests Harry Munk Project plus October.Then on Friday, June 27 the final night of the festival belong to the Rock 'n' Roll Gypsies, a band formed by Mat Sargent - of Sham 69, Chelsea and Splodge fame - for a charity album project and has gone from strength to strength.A great night awaits and will also feature local favourites Falling Apart plus Kitty and the Lost Boys, who are being compared to a young Blondie.Tickets for any of the Marlboro June gigs are available from Ilfracombe TIC on (01271) 863001 or via www.myspace.com/themarlboroclub
