The James Gang will be playing three decades’ worth of hits at the Elizabethan on Saturday night

A POPULAR Bideford band is taking to the stage to raise more money for visually impaired children.

The James Gang will be bringing their brand of 80s, 90s and modern-day rock and pop to the Elizabethan in Westward Ho! on Saturday night in aid of VICTA (Visually Impaired Children Taking Action).

The band held a similar fund-raiser for the charity in 2008 and members hope Saturday night’s concert will be just as successful.

The evening’s entertainment will also feature saxophonist Graham Clarke and singer Duncan Reed, as well as DJ sets by Philfy (Phil Saunders) and Trojan (Grace Saunders).

“Music-wise we’ll be covering great songs from the 80s to the present day and it should be a fantastic night,” said organiser John Jeffries, who will be running the 2011 London marathon for VICTA on April 17.

“There will also be a raffle, with all the ticket money going to VICTA, a charity which is close to our hearts.”

Tickets are £5, available on the door or in advance from Jon on (01237) 423070, Graham Clarke on (01237) 424704 or Dave Lansbury on 07966 125148.
