Creative Cow Theatre Company come to Ilfracombe to bring a tale of love and laughter.

A FROTHY confection of love, laughter and period costumes will be heading to the Landmark Theatre on Sunday.

Charley’s Aunt, run by the Creative Cow Theatre Company, is visiting Ilfracombe as part of its nationwide tour.

Brandon Thomas’ much loved play is set in 1892 as dashing Oxford undergraduates, Jack and Charley, prepare to propose to Amy and Kitty.

But a chaperone is needed and as luck would have it, Charley’s Aunt is arriving from Brazil and will happily serve the purpose – until a telegram declares her trip is delayed.

All can turn out well only after a breathtaking chase, a musical interlude and an absurd number of marital engagements.

Katherine Senior, professional actress and founder of Creative Cow, said: “Charley’s Aunt is a brilliant play and one that has been enjoyed by audiences right from its first performance.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing it to audiences in Ilfracombe.”

The show starts at 7pm, tickets £13, £11.50 concessions, £9 for members, £7.50 for under 25s and £6 for young people.
