PATRONS of The Plough Arts Centre in Torrington will be treated to a true variety show next month.Collaborators Warren Lakin and Mike McCarthy present Variety Lives at The Plough on Saturday, February 28 at 8pm.It was in March last year that the pair of them hatched their plan to offer audiences a blend of guests, something a little different from the usual stand-up comedy or musical ensembles. They were travelling together from Cardiff at the time on their way to Torrington to host a tribute show for Warren's late partner, Linda Smith. The moving show featured well known actors, musicians and comedians - and Variety Lives was born.Next month's audience is being promised a heady cocktail of intelligent stand-up, searing satire, clever wordplay and sweet, sweet music. Compered by Ronnie Golden, it will feature comedy from Carrie Quinlan and jazz and blues from Carol Grimes and Dorian Ford.
