A week of free theatre and break dance workshops are taking place in Bideford this February half term for young people aged 11-25.The exciting physical workshops will be led by the Multi-story Theatre Company and joined by top UK break dancer Dean Reeve, alias B-Boy Bugz.The sessions begin on Sunday, February 17, and have been organised by Seize the Moment Ltd, an independent not for-profit company of artists and youth workers, with funding from NW Devon Leader+."This will give drama and dance students an exciting opportunity to explore their craft in a series of workshops led by highly experienced performers," said organiser Julie Whitton.Participants should be prepared to attend all six sessions, from 10am-4pm, throughout the week up until Sunday, February 24, when there will be an end performance based on a week of work.For those interested in break dancing, there is an opportunity to take part in two morning sessions with Dean Reeve, a member of the Soul Mavericks crew, recently crowned UK Champions at the regional B-Boy Conflict finals.The vastly experienced members of Multi-story have performed and directed with the Royal Shakespeare and Orchard Theatre companies, among others and have run a series of workshops covering many aspects of the craft.Places on the workshops are limited, so for more information telephone Julie Whitton on (01271) 830311 or email julie@theyews.freeserve.co.uk
