Organisers calling it a day after 15 years, but more events are planned in the future

The final leper parade has been held at the Taddiport Leper Festival in Torrington.

Organiser Shan Miller said they felt it had come its to end after 15 years, but fundraising would still continue for the Taddiport Leper Mission and The Loft, which showcases local bands.

She said the event on one of the wettest nights of the year saw the lepers carry on regardless as the Torridge burst its banks, with people making an extra effort to attend.

Although it is the last of the leper parades, more fundraising events are planned in the future.
