Ultravox and Band Aid pioneer performing at The Plough on Thursday, June 19.

Band Aid and Live 8 founder Midge Ure is playing at The Plough Arts Centre in Torrington on Thursday, June 19.

The Ultravox chart topper, Grammy and Brit award winner and Thin Lizzy guitarist is likely to be performing material from his new album Fragile – his first original collection to be released in a decade.

Midge Ure has shape shifted his way through the UK music scene for more than 35 years, from prototype boy band with Slik, through electronic pioneer with Visage, rock guitarist with Thin Lizzy, chart topper with Ultravox and his solo career, to charity fundraiser with Bob Geldof and Band Aid.

This solo acoustic show sticks to his mantra that a good song can be stripped down to its basics and still stand close inspection. It will include solo songs such as If I Was, Ultravox songs from Vienna and new songs from the recent Ultravox CD Brilliant.

The gig starts at 8pm and tickets are available from the box office on 01805 624624 or visit www.theploughartscentre.org.uk
