Join songwriter renowned songwriter Graham Gouldman plus other 10cc band members for a night of hits from past to present.
THE Plough Arts Centre in Torrington welcomes a sublime acoustic set from 10cc’s Graham Gouldman and his band Heart Full of Songs this Friday.
The band took on a life of its own after Graham and fellow 10cc members began performing acoustic versions of hits he had written for others as an opening act at 10cc concerts.
The longstanding British singer songwriter penned a string of tunes for iconic bands such as The Hollies, The Yardbirds, Wayne Fontana and Herman’s Hermits before going on to establish 10cc.
Still going strong, 10cc generated hits in its own right including number ones with I’m Not in Love and Dreadlock Holiday.
The enduring popularity of those tracks and Graham’s love of playing songs in their simplest form, led to the formation of Heart Full of Songs.
Audiences can expect all the hits plus other Gouldman compositions and material from his acclaimed solo album Love and Work.
He is to be inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame – an arm of America’s National Academy of Music – at a ceremony in New York in June. Previous inductees include Burt Bacharach, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Elton John, to name just a few.
Friday’s Torrington concert begins at 8pm and tickets are available from the box office on 01805 624624.
