A four day feast of theatrical fare from performance poetry to dance, comedy and drama is on offer this weekend as the Fringe TheatreFest returns to Barnstaple. There will be more than 70 performances, from the funny to the musical, serious or thought provoking, at four different venues around the town up until Sunday, June 26. A total of 24 theatre companies from near and far will be taking part in the North Devon Festival event, hosted by the Queens Theatres new intimate venues of Studio@QT and Gallery@QT plus the Baptist Hall in Boutport Street and Boston Tea Party in Tuly Street. There will be special five minute tasters of Fringe TheatreFest productions at the Boston Tea Party starting Wednesday (June 22) from 1-2pm and every day up to and including Saturday. Tickets for each event cost £5 for adults and £3 concessions. They can be pre-booked at the Queens Theatre, Barnstaple and Landmark Theatre in Ilfracombe or via (01271) 324242. Tickets can also be purchased on the day of performance, at the appropriate venue, one hour before the performance starts. Special Frequent Fringer tickets cost £15 and allow entry to six performances of your choice, provided seats are available.
