Small Pond Productions’ latest Christmas show needs street urchins, workhouse waifs and volunteers

Pickpockets and people of all ages are needed to join the Small Pond Productions Christmas musical Oliver.

Anyone interested is invited to a general meeting on Friday at Emmanuel Church hall, held at 6.30-8pm for children aged eight to 16 and from 8pm for interested adults. Auditions take place the following week.

There is a big cast, but in addition to pickpockets and workhouse boys among others, the group also needs volunteers to help out backstage, make costumes and various roles.

Director Lee Baxendale said: "Oliver is such a good show and it is a brilliant way to get new people involved in performing especially children.

"We are on the look-out for new cast members and also anyone who would like to be involved in any way; backstage, making costumes or even making the tea at rehearsals!

"The great thing about this show is there is something for everyone. Whether you have been performing for years or this is the first time you'll tread the boards."

Oliver! will be performed from the December 3-5 at the Landmark theatre
