World-renowned artist Danielle O’Connor Akiyama will be visiting Driftwood Gallery in Ilfracombe on Sunday, September 16.
Driftwood at St James Place will be hosting a unique exhibition featuring original paintings and stunning limited editions by the acclaimed Canadian artist.
Danielle has enjoyed major international success as an artist for over 30 years. She spends much of her life travelling and has exhibited her vibrant and exquisite masterpieces all over the world. She has received numerous awards for her paintings which she describes as ‘sanctuaries for the soul’.
Her luminous floral and abstract canvases combine an impressionistic style with a technical approach based on the extensive study of Japanese Sumi-e brush painting, creating a distinctive fusion of eastern and western artistry, which has led to her works being highly prized by art collectors around the globe.
Gallery manager Annette Rydin said: “We are thrilled to welcome Danielle into the gallery.
“She is a major figure on the world stage but also a warm and inspirational individual, and we look forward to introducing her to our friends in the area.”
She will be at the gallery on September 16 from 1-3pm, with all welcome. Find out more at http://driftwoodcontemporaryart.co.uk/ilfracombe.
