The big top will be up at Seven Brethren in Barnstaple from Wednesday, August 23 to Monday, August 28

The circus comes to town in Barnstaple this week with high flying acrobats, tumblers and clowns promising thrills and spills for all the family.

Circus Wonderland will be pitching the big top at Seven Brethren from today (Wednesday) right through until bank holiday Monday.

Show times are at 3pm and 7pm on weekdays, Saturday at 2pm and 6pm, Sunday at 12pm and 3pm and bank holiday Monday at 2pm

After proving popular in town last year, the circus is returning with a brand new show packed with comedy and daredevil antics.

Arriving in the UK for the first time from Morocco, the Casablanca Troupe will be fearlessly flipping and flying across the arena, while Marton Perna will be freewheeling into the spotlight to perform spectacular BMX stunts.

Miss Grace Olivia will lighting up the big top with her fiery foot juggling fiesta, while Ruslan Arlanov stylishly spins around the circus ring in his revolving Wonder Wheel.

Amid the action and excitement, award-winning clowns Kakehole and Mr Popol are returning to scale new summits of silliness with their crazy comic capers.

Audiences can expect lots of mess and mishaps when Mr Popol opens his new restaurant with Kakehole as the chef!

The circus travels all around the UK for nine months of the year, but the clowns particularly look forward to appearing in Barnstaple.

"This will be our fourth annual visit to Barnstaple, and we always receive a great welcome," said Kakehole, also known as circus director Kriss Freear.

"We have built up a very loyal following locally and we are pleased to raise money at every performance for our favourite charity, Children's Hospice South West."
