Popular performer is running a charity competition to find choirs to open his shows during his autumn tour.
A local choir is being offered the opportunity to open the show for singer Charlie Landsborough when he performs in Barnstaple on October 31 as part of his autumn tour.
The multi award winning country singer has launched a choral competition, with the winning choir in each area being able to perform on stage, while the overall winner will receive £1,000.
Closyign date for entries is August 31 and the entry fee is £25 per choir, which will be donated to Children in Need. Charlie himself will be donating the royalties for a year from one of his best loved songs, Special, to the appeal.
Entrants will be asked to submit a recording of one of Charlie's self-penned songs, with a catalogue of more than 150 to choose from, ranging from harmony, country, rock and blues to ballads and gospel.
Choirs should number up to 25 people and can be from any age group, male, female or mixed. They may enter as many pre-recorded Charlie Landsborough original songs as they wish - professional studio recordings are not necessary.
The winners who get to appear will be able to perform two songs, but it is recommended they choose numbers other than What Colour is the Wind or Forever Friend.
Entries and £25 fee should be sent to: Charlie Landsborough Enterprises Ltd. PO Box 155, Wirral, CH31 9AS. Entry forms and more information can be found at: www.charlielandsborough.com.
